Discerning April 3
2 John 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, 11 for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.
John is very strict about dealing with those who do not stay in the doctrine and teaching of the Bible. He says we should not even greet these people. This is a strong warning to avoid those who want to pollute the simple pure gospel. The spirit of unbelief, discontent, striving and confusion are upon all those who seek to obtain salvation apart from obedience to Christ. We ought to be busy feeding the hungry bread from God's word and not getting caught up in the vain arguments of man. Without Christ we have no hope in this life or the next. Our loyalty and passion should be undistracted towards Him and that requires staying in an atmosphere of faith and truth.
