Well of Salvation

The definition of a well would be a pool fed by a spring of water or a deeply dug pit that acts as a reservoir or container of water. A water well is a structure that is built by digging a hole to access groundwater that is in underground aquifers. The Bible likens the life giving presence of God's spirit to water, wells or springs that give life in desert places.

In Isaiah 12 says: With joy youc will draw water from the wells of salvation. 4And you will say in that day:

“Give thanks to the LORD,
call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim that his name is exalted.

Just as wells hold water, there are places, people and things that contain God's presence in a special way. These are wells as it were of spiritual refreshing where there has been a history of a deep dug hole to access the things of God's presence and we can return for that life-giving flow.
Places where God has moved before and He will move again in like fashion.
Moriah was the place Abraham offered Isaac, where the glory filled Solomon's temple, Jesus was crucified and the Temple Mount. Bethel (house of God) was the place where Abram sacrificed to God, Jacob saw angels, Deborah had her ministry under a tree, the prophets visited regularly, and Saul himself became a prophet.
People God moved with included Samuel (1 Samuel 1-19) and Elijah (1 Kings 17-19) and Elisha (1Kings 19-2 Kings 13. Samuel heard God when the word of God was rare. God spoke to him all night in a vision, The Lord appears in Shiloh because of Samuel, God tells Samuel which kings to anoint, gave protection to David. Elijah was a man who was sustained supernaturally by food from ravens, he caused miracles of multiplication, raised a child from the dead, was a counseler to kings, prayed fire down from heaven, prayed the rain would stop and come. Elisha was no different, he also multiplied oil, raised the woman's son who had built a room for him, healed Naaman, blinded Syria's army and anointed kings.
Things also contained God's presence. Moses' Staff was given to him for signs at the burning bush, it was a snake in Pharoah's court, parted the red sea and raised for victory during the battle of Amalekites, and hit a rock to yield water. Elisha used the mantle of Elijah to part the waters of the Jordan as Elijah did before him. Cloth that touched Paul had miraculous curing power.

11God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. 12When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.

There are wells in the world where revivals have occurred. In the United States.

While we do not worship places, things or people, we do have respect unto the presence of God and places/people/things He has touched. We want to dig deep to create our own resevoir for revival but also access those that have already been dug. Let us cry out for the Lord to bring water again in the parched land.

What God did before He can and will do again. God works in patterns and cycles. We can learn from past revivals that they are preceded by unbroken and united prayer and fasting. That they feature anointed speakers and yield strange manifestations. That they result in repentance, healings, transformed lives and regions and worldwide impact.

Isaiah 44
For I will pour out water to quench your thirst
and to irrigate your parched fields.
And I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants,
and my blessing on your children.
4They will thrive like watered grass,
like willows on a riverbank.
5Some will proudly claim, ‘I belong to the LORD.’
Others will say, ‘I am a descendant of Jacob.’
Some will write the LORD’s name on their hands

and will take the name of Israel as their own.”

Numbers 21
16From there the Israelites traveled to Beer,d which is the well where the LORD said to Moses, “Assemble the people, and I will give them water.” 17There the Israelites sang this song:
“Spring up, O well!
Yes, sing its praises!
18Sing of this well,
which princes dug,
which great leaders hollowed out
with their scepters and staffs.”

Then the Israelites left the wilderness and proceeded on through Mattanah, 19Nahaliel, and Bamoth.20After that they went to the valley in Moab where Pisgah Peak overlooks the wasteland.e
