God as Creator

God is the creator of all things. He speaks and things come into existence. In Isaiah 48:12-13 it says “Listen to me, O family of Jacob,
Israel my chosen one!
I alone am God,
the First and the Last.
13It was my hand that laid the foundations of the earth,
my right hand that spread out the heavens above.
When I call out the stars,
they all appear in order.”

One of the greatest attacks the enemy has made on God is His role as Creator. The first verse in the Bible Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.ais one of the greatest contested verses because if the enemy can get a person to question the start of the Bible they will also question the rest of the Bible. At the turn of the century cleverly devised theory and philosophy of the beginning of time was crafted through a number of people who said that beings evolved over time. This lie was emblazoned on the journals, books and educational books of Western Society and people embraced it as fact abandoning the truth of God's word revealed in Genesis 1. The results have been catastrophic sending unbelief and confusion into generations concerning their origin, purpose, identity, responsibility, morality and accountability. Those who have stood for the biblical truth have been mocked and dismissed in their professional circles. Many have caved and even proclaimed Christians and universities have watered down the truth of Genesis to be more socially and intellectually accepted in the world's eyes.

But God's ability and power has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The lies the enemy has enticed man with has not changed who God is or what He did. In fact, now modern science and archaeology is all catching up to the unchanging truth of God's word to believe that it is true after all! John 1: 1-3 attributes the creation again to our maker saying;                            In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
2He existed in the beginning with God.
3God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.

The movie "Is Genesis History?" Shows that the Hebrew rendering of Genesis 1 is a historical narrative meaning it is to be taken literally as history and the Hebrew word for day is a literal 24 hour period. In fact, God was the one who created day and night. He takes time to outline each day of creation a day and a night. This overrides the theories of man that try to explain creation in epochs of time instead of days to fit more with the accepted theory of evolution. God called out the expanse of the heavens and earth, celestial beings, fully formed plants, animals and humans in a matter of six days. The Bible says in Genesis 1: 4And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. 5God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.”And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day.

The modern dating system places the earth geology and fossils at the age of millions of years in order to make room for the evolutionary theory. It assumes that the earth has been on a linear trajectory with slow or imperceptible change over time to do so.  Yet the Bible carefully outlines the generations from Adam to Christ mentioning the age of the individuals and the age when they had their children so the age of the earth is not a guess in the dark.  His Word places the earth at around 6,000 years old. This is being confirmed in unbelievable ways. In 2005 some scientists have even found tissues on trex bones with proteins in them that could never be intact if dated at the modern dating system of millions of years.

So how could there be such a difference in dating methods? In geology much of the earth's present form can be explained by the sudden, catastrophic event of the flood which shook the earth and whole continents were shifted, sediment layers were quickly deposited one on top of the other. Just as the landscape of the area of Mount St Helena transformed in a matter of days from the eruption, the worldwide flood broke open the earth and covered the continents. Afterwards, the trapped water froze in some places causing the ice age and cut through crevices of rock to form canyons such as the Grand canyon. In Genesis 7:11 it says: 11When Noah was 600 years old, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the underground waters erupted from the earth, and the rain fell in mighty torrents from the sky. 12The rain continued to fall for forty days and forty nights...17For forty days the floodwaters grew deeper, covering the ground and lifting the boat high above the earth. 18As the waters rose higher and higher above the ground, the boat floated safely on the surface.19Finally, the water covered even the highest mountains on the earth, 20rising more than twenty-two feetbabove the highest peaks.

The worldwide flood is also evidenced in the fossil record. This disaster trapped marine life and dinosaurs world wide showing even their foot prints near their fossilized bodies indicating a sudden end. Again it says in Genesis 7 21All the living things on earth died—birds, domestic animals, wild animals, small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the people. 22Everything that breathed and lived on dry land died. 23God wiped out every living thing on the earth—people, livestock, small animals that scurry along the ground, and the birds of the sky. All were destroyed. The only people who survived were Noah and those with him in the boat.

So what of the remaining species? How can we account for their differences? The fact is Genetics is now proving that lifeforms were created with various genes and some are programmable to adapt and change through circumstances. This would account for the changes of colors of animals, beak size, and other adaptations to survive in their environments. In fact all animals today can be categorized into a "kind" to trace back to the animals that were on the ark. Such as a bear kind, a canine kind, a feline kind and a equestrian kind. As it says in Genesis 7:  2Take with you seven pairs—male and female—of each animal I have approved for eating and for sacrifice,a and take one pair of each of the others. 3Also take seven pairs of every kind of bird. There must be a male and a female in each pair to ensure that all life will survive on the earth after the flood.

The disciplines today show more and more the validity of the scriptures. Whether it is through the sudden appearance of complex language forms and world wide civilizations with similar ziggarut-type worship structures from the dispersion of mankind from the tower of Babel in Genesis 11 to the beautifully formed rings in galaxies and planets revealing a newer formation, we can take God's word as 100% accurate and relevant in every area of study and do not have to accept the widespread deceptive philosophies generated by man.

God is firstly to be worshiped as creator.  When we look at God's creation it speaks of His order, handiwork, creativity and care. This is who He is. This is why we can trust Him and look to Him for strength.

Isaiah 40 says
12Who else has held the oceans in his hand?
Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers?
Who else knows the weight of the earth
or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?
13Who is able to advise the Spirit of the LORD?c
Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him?
28 Have you never heard?
Have you never understood?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
29He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
30Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
31But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

The heavens are a silent testimony of who are God is. Even people who have never read the Bible can see the order and beauty around them and understand that it came from someone who was highly superior, creative and over all. Psalm 19 says:
1The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftsmanship.
2Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known.
3They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.a
4Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.

God created a living perfect world until death by sin was introduced at the choice of mankind.  Evolution only speaks of death, survival of the fitest and chaos. Yet people would rather dismiss the notion of God and a created order so that they can make themselves as God with the ability to decide what is right and wrong based on their own conclusions. The scripture fortold of people who would scoff at the account of the world in Genesis in 2 Peter 3 when it says: 5They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. 6Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. 7And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.

When a person does not believe they were created by a Creator who has a purpose and design for their life and to have a personal relationship with them, the alternative is perilous. If man was made randomly and there is no Creator to be accountable to, there is no real moral boundaries and there is no purpose for existence. The secular world finds self-virtue in activities such as preserving the planet for they have the mindset that things will continue on the same forever as it says in 2 Peter 3:

3Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. 4They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

Those who know the Scriptures know we are on a definite timeline, defined by Creator God who wants a relationship with man and sent His son to restore the fellowship through His own blood. They know that this world is temporary and just as the flood was a sudden catastrophe for the world, the Lord will return and there will be sudden catastrophe in the destruction of the earth. This moves the believer to serve God fervently, with reverent fear knowing the time is short and that he will stand accountable before His creator. It continues in 2 Peter 3:
8But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. 9The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.10But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.a
11Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live,12looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. 13But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.
So how else can we give our Creator the praise He is worthy of? This is summed up well in Ecclesiastes 12. We have a very short time on this earth to choose whether or not we want to acknowledge God as creator or Lord or put ourselves or man as God. The choices we make when we are younger often affect our belief systems when we grow older. It is often difficult to change a person's heart or mind when they are already fully given over to one belief system. So while there is still opportunity and openness of heart, give your heart to belief in the Scripture and your creator God today as it says in Ecclesiastes 12:
1Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.” 2Remember him before the light of the sun, moon, and stars is dim to your old eyes, and rain clouds continually darken your sky. 3Remember him before your legs—the guards of your house—start to tremble; and before your shoulders—the strong men—stoop. Remember him before your teeth—your few remaining servants—stop grinding; and before your eyes—the women looking through the windows—see dimly.
4Remember him before the door to life’s opportunities is closed and the sound of work fades. Now you rise at the first chirping of the birds, but then all their sounds will grow faint.
5Remember him before you become fearful of falling and worry about danger in the streets; before your hair turns white like an almond tree in bloom, and you drag along without energy like a dying grasshopper, and the caperberry no longer inspires sexual desire. Remember him before you near the grave, your everlasting home, when the mourners will weep at your funeral.
6Yes, remember your Creator now while you are young, before the silver cord of life snaps and the golden bowl is broken. Don’t wait until the water jar is smashed at the spring and the pulley is broken at the well. 7For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.
